Planning for the future

Morten Magelssen, the good doctor over at Norvegicus, writes a lot of interesting things. He's very much inspired by C.S Lewis, as am I, but like Lewis I don't think he sees how fundamental the principles of liberalism are to morality itself. I am composing an essay about the liberal principles, perhaps to mail to him, perhaps just to publish here. It will be in norwegian though.

I have considered switching this entire blog to norwegian, actually, but since I have had at least one prominent english-speaking visitor (the Australian Peak Oil blogger Big Gav) I will put off the decision. Apropos Peak Oil (<= Warning: pessimist site, but Peak Oil is a fact, the questions are "When?" and "How bad?"), I wrote a letter to the newspaper Vårt Land about peak oil, the national oil fund and the upcoming election, but I don't think they will print it :-( I blame the rambling writing style I've picked up on the net.

We expect the baby to arrive at around the 25. of september. We wanted home birth, but after months of hard trying we have failed to find a midwife who is able to take on the responsibility, in large part because the state makes it difficult for them to share the time, so a single midwife has to be on standby for a full month. I don't need to tell which party I'm voting for, do I? If it hadn't been for KrF, we would probably wrap up the babies like bowling pins and store them far away from the mother, as they did in the Soviet Union.
