Names

Kieran Healy over at Crooked Timber has found (via PZ Myers) a name search service for the United States, of the kind that reports how many people are called so and so. We've had that for a number of years here, at Statistisk Sentralbyrå.
There the inquisive readers of CT may find out that there are 24444 people in Norway who have Odd as their first name, but only 5131 who are called Even. The Evens are rising sharply, though. As for interesting surnames, Saltbones comes out with 28 people, Lie with 7367, Hole with 1966, Bang with 1319.
There are no less than five Odd Bangs.
There are no readers, but there are 638 Utne. Will Reidar do? Doesn't look like there are any Reidar Utnes anyway. The artist Odd Nerdrum probably has a unique name, since there are only 113 Nerdrums in all of Norway.

But there is plenty of Hope. 1233 of them, actually.
